Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do when using the Volt26 platform and AI agent services (collectively, "the Services"). This AUP is incorporated into, and forms part of, the Volt26 Terms of Service ("Terms"). Capitalised terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.

1. General Prohibited Conduct

You must not use the Services to:

1.1 Violate any applicable law, regulation, court order, or treaty — including laws of New Zealand and any jurisdiction in which you operate.

1.2 Infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, including copyright, trade marks, patents, or trade secrets.

1.3 Process, store, or transmit content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, discriminatory, or that incites violence or hatred against any person or group.

1.4 Engage in fraud, deception, or misrepresentation — including impersonating any person, organisation, or Volt26.

1.5 Facilitate or promote gambling, adult content, weapons, controlled substances, or any other activity that is illegal or restricted in New Zealand or the user's jurisdiction.

1.6 Generate or distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, phishing content, or any other malicious code or material.

2. Security & Platform Integrity

You must not:

2.1 Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security control, authentication mechanism, rate limit, or access restriction on the Services.

2.2 Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services or Volt26's infrastructure without prior written authorisation.

2.3 Attempt to access data, accounts, or systems belonging to other Volt26 customers ("tenant isolation"). Each customer's data is logically separated; deliberate attempts to cross tenant boundaries are a serious breach of this AUP.

2.4 Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Services in a manner that exceeds normal usage patterns or that places unreasonable load on infrastructure, except where Volt26 has explicitly permitted API access.

2.5 Introduce any virus, trojan, worm, logic bomb, or other harmful material into the Services.

3. AI-Specific Prohibited Conduct

Because the Services are powered by AI (Anthropic Claude), the following additional restrictions apply:

3.1 Jailbreaking & circumvention. You must not attempt to bypass, manipulate, or override the safety measures, content filters, or system instructions built into Volt26's AI agents — whether through prompt crafting, role-playing scenarios, or any other technique.

3.2 Prompt injection. You must not embed instructions in Customer Content that are designed to manipulate AI agent behaviour in unintended ways, including instructions targeting Volt26's own system prompts.

3.3 Data exfiltration. You must not attempt to use AI outputs or any other means to extract, reconstruct, or infer data belonging to other tenants or Volt26's proprietary configuration.

3.4 Disallowed content generation. You must not use the Services to generate content that: depicts or promotes child sexual abuse material (CSAM); facilitates terrorism, extremism, or mass violence; constitutes illegal hate speech; or is otherwise prohibited by Anthropic's usage policies (available at anthropic.com/policies/usage). Volt26's AI agents are configured to decline such requests; attempts to circumvent those refusals are a breach of this AUP.

3.5 Anthropic usage policies. Your use of Volt26's AI capabilities is also subject to Anthropic's usage policies. Volt26 may impose additional restrictions in line with Anthropic's requirements from time to time.

4. Data You Must Not Input

4.1 You must not submit to the Services any data that you do not have the legal right to process, including data obtained in breach of any third-party agreement or applicable law.

4.2 Unless you have separately contracted with Volt26 under arrangements that expressly permit it, you must not submit sensitive or special-category personal information, including:

  • health or medical information;
  • financial account numbers, credit card numbers, or banking credentials;
  • government-issued identifiers (e.g., IRD numbers, passport numbers, driver licence numbers);
  • biometric data;
  • data relating to children under the age of 18;
  • any category of information requiring heightened protection under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 or equivalent legislation in your jurisdiction.

5. Prohibited Commercial Uses

You must not:

5.1 Resell, sublicence, or provide access to the Services to third parties in a manner that competes with Volt26's own offerings, or that circumvents the agreed commercial terms.

5.2 Use the Services (including outputs) to build, train, fine-tune, or benchmark a competing AI product or service.

5.3 Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data, content, or AI outputs from the Services for any purpose not expressly permitted in writing by Volt26.

6. Consequences of Breach

6.1 Volt26 may, without prior notice and at its sole discretion, suspend or terminate your access to the Services if it reasonably believes you have breached this AUP.

6.2 Volt26 may also: (a) remove or disable access to any Customer Content that violates this AUP; (b) report conduct to relevant authorities or regulators; and (c) pursue any other remedies available at law.

6.3 Suspension or termination under this AUP does not limit Volt26's right to claim damages or seek other remedies.

7. Reporting Abuse

7.1 If you become aware of any use of the Services that may violate this AUP — including by another user — please report it promptly to: legal@volt26.ai.

7.2 Volt26 will investigate all reports in good faith and take appropriate action. Volt26 cannot guarantee a specific outcome or response timeline.

8. Changes to This AUP

8.1 Volt26 may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be notified in accordance with the Terms. Continued use of the Services following the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing Law

9.1 This AUP is governed by the laws of New Zealand and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
